      When my brother died in a motor vehicle accident during my freshman year in high school, my single mom and I assumed the responsibility of raising his orphaned 1-year old son. The gladly assumed responsibility changed my daily activities, perceptions, and career goals. It caused me to alter my typical after school activities, develop a deep appreciation for my mom, and acquire the desire to become a preschool teacher.
